Liquor Licensing NSW

Training for liquor licensees and approved managers

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Liquor & Gaming were allowing licensees and managers to complete Licensee Training after they had lodged their licence application.

From 25 July 2022, all new applicants to become a licensee or be appointed as an approved manager, must have completed the mandatory licensee training.

The training, that builds on the existing Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training and enhances the professionalism of the liquor industry, includes:

Licensee training

For most licensees, approved managers and club secretaries.

Advanced Licensee training

Additional training for licensees and managers operating higher risk venues like those trading after midnight.

A list of approved training providers is available from the  Liquor & Gaming website.
