Liquor Licensing NSW

Take-away liquor sales for restaurants and small bars now permanent

Arrangements introduced during COVID-19 allowing restaurants and small bars to sell take-away alcohol have now been made permanent through recent changes to the liquor laws.

Once the changes come into effect, liquor will be able to be supplied as takeaway, or home delivery, providing:

a) it is purchased with a genuine meal; and

b) the amount doesn’t exceed the maximum allowed under the new laws being:

  • 1 sealed 750ml bottle of wine
  • 6 bottles of beer, cider or RTD spirits to a maximum of 2.25 litres
  • 4 house-made cocktails totalling not more than 1 litre
